First Wednesday Maintenance Plan for Faculty and Staff Workstations

Information Technology Services is implementing a monthly maintenance program, First Wednesday Maintenance, for faculty and staff workstations as a proactive measure that is essential to providing a stable and secure network for Highline College.  First Wednesday Mainteance includes updating and restarting the Operating System of PC and Mac workstations (and applying Office updates on PC workstations as they become available).

First Wednesday Maintenance will occur the first Wednesday of each month starting at 11:00 p.m. and ending at 4:00 a.m.  ITS will push out updates and restart workstations of faculty and staff during this timeframe.  Periodically other updates may need to occur during the month if critical Operating System updates become available and are needed for workstations. The maintenance updates may take anywhere from 20 minutes to one hour for each workstation.  If you experience any issues with your workstation after the monthly update, please contact the Help Desk at ext. 4357, email helpdesk@highline.edu or submit a ticket at hd.highline.edu.

While this work is essential, we also recognize that it may present an inconvenience.  Ecceptions to the maintenanve schedule may be made that may affect peak business cycles.  Please contact the Help Desk in advance if a cancellation is requested. The cancellation request will be evaluated and a final determination made as quickly as possible.
