Office 365 Planning

ITS is in the planning stage to upgrade Highline-managed Windows computers of faculty and staff to Office 365.

Campus classrooms and labs were upgraded to Office 365 back in Winter ‘23 quarter.

With Office 365, you will always have the latest version of Office applications on your computer, and accessibility features.  That means you will automatically have the newest features and security updates as they are rolled out.

Office 365 is a cloud-based service that brings together the best tools for the way people work today. By combining best-in-class apps like Word, Excel and Outlook with powerful cloud services like OneDrive and Microsoft Teams, Office 365 lets anyone create and share anywhere on any device.

During the months of June and July 2023, faculty and staff may become early adopters and test Microsoft 365.

Office 365 will be installed on new replacement devices along with Windows 11 beginning in July 2023.  It is the goal of ITS to deploy Office 365 by the end of 2023.  Deployment considerations will include upgrading the device from Windows 10 to Windows 11 dependent on hardware.

If there are persons or offices that need to stay on the desktop version of Office for business reporting processes, ITS will work with the individuals and departments to use Office 2021.
