Highline VPN (Virtual Private Network)

Info and Connection Guide

Important!

  • Please disconnect your VPN connection when not in use.
  • Make sure you have set up your Multi-Factor Authorization security on your myHighline account with Okta MFA. This is how your identity is verified and your data protected.

What is VPN?

Part of Highline’s cyber security practices is to have a Virtual Private Network (VPN) available. The internet is public domain and exposed to potential risk. Using a VPN creates a private network where those at Highline can safety and securely conduct business.  This private network encrypts your data and masks your IP address, preventing third parties from tracking or accessing any of it. There are some sites and services you may need that can only be accessed from Highline’s VPN.

You log into the VPN using a ‘client portal.’ Highline uses GlobalProtect.

You will need to log on to the VPN every day you need to use it, and log off when you are done. There is limited amount of bandwidth that is shared among all users, and like any street, the more cars that are on it, the slower the traffic will be. So please remember to log off whenever you are taking a long break or when you are done for the day.
