Technology resources for students are available 24 x 7
Visit https://its.highline.edu/ and click on the left navigation pane, Tools for Students. Visit the Digital Literacy Highline Apps page for links to information, guides, and tutorials on some of Highline’s most commonly used applications and platforms. In order to be successful in your courses, you will need to be comfortable with each of these. Click on a link to see information, and remember that you can always connect with a tech tutor if you have any questions or need help! myHighline Account If you have not already activated your myHighline account you can do that here: https://myinfo.highline.edu/Activate.php
Note: After creating the account it can take 24-48 hours for all systems to synchronize so they might not be able to log in immediately so be sure to activate your account early. Once your myHighline account is activated, you can reach many of your Highline applications, including ctcLink and Canvas, through the My Apps Dashboard. The first time you log in you will be asked to set up Multi-Factor Authentication. ctcLink is where you can enroll for classes, pay your tuition, and check your financial aid.
Canvas is the Learning Management System in use for most Highline classes. If a course has online materials, they are probably in Canvas. Some instructors, however, host their online materials elsewhere. If you did not see your course in Canvas, check with your instructor. Note that most courses will not be available until the first day of the quarter. Google Drive Students, faculty and staff have a Highline Google Drive to save and share files. To log in, go to drive.highline.edu and sign in with your Highline username and password. Pharos Printing Students, faculty, and staff at Highline have access to PaperCut, a printing management system that allows users to send print jobs to a universal queue that can be securely accessed at any of the college’s physical print stations. It is efficient and easy to use. Users do not need to know the name of a specific printer, and the print job is held in their PaperCut queue for 24 hours before being deleted, so if they need to walk to a different printing station, they do not have to re-send the file within that time. This reduces wastes and makes printer administration much simpler. To get started, check the email sent to your Highline email address from PaperCut with your 6-digit ID number assignment. This email will come from papercut-no-reply@highline.edu with the subject of “PaperCut – New ID number” or “PaperCut – New PIN number” It is important that you remember this ID number. Please contact the ITS Help Desk if you cannot find this email. Tutorials
Questions?
IT Security It is important to protect all Highline usernames and passwords, as well as personal information and College data, from cybersecurity attacks. Cybercriminals continually refine their tools to infiltrate systems and networks to access data, attempting to steal institutional information and personal credentials, and access valuable resources, with the ultimate goal of financial gain. They also try to make devices and systems inaccessible until the targeted individuals or organizations pay a fee. Highline students, faculty and staff have a responsibility to secure College data from potential attacks and data breaches, and to use Highline College computing resources appropriately. Additional security information is here:.https://its.highline.edu/cyber-security/ |
ITS is here to support you. We hope that you have a great Fall quarter and academic year!
